SO is coming home tonight from a trip to France and Italy. This was a relatively short trip, having left on the 14th of May. He hasn't traveled since mid-March so this year has been an improvement over last year when he traveled two weeks every month.
This will be the first US holiday (except for Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year's) that he will be home in a year. He missed Memorial Day, July 4th and Labor Day holidays last year. Bit big time. We have plans to go camping with friends in north central Pennsylvania. We're kind of crashing a family reunion. We went with them two years ago because they needed a place to sleep and we have a camper. Sounds a little lame, I know, but that was the excuse they gave the family for inviting strangers. We had a grand old time and are looking forward to seeing them all again. The weather is not supposed to cooperate but that is nothing new to us while camping. If you want to know what the weather will be like, just find out if we're going out with the camper. 99% chance the weather will suck in one way or another.
This Memorial Day weekend, please take a few moments to remember what the holiday is really about. Think about all the servicemen and women that have served and died for this country's cause, whatever that may be. Regardless of how each of us feels about our government at present, each soldier that has fought for our country deserves our thoughts and prayers.
And hey, check it out. Taken by WanSon. Pretty cool regardless of how a person feels. Have a fun and safe holiday weekend everyone.
Can't wait to see SO's pictures. The weekend sounds fun, never crashed someone else's family reunion. That's not quite as taboo and meeting a future spouse at your own ;-Þ (private joke) Nice of you to remind everyone of the true reason for our upcoming celebration.
Must say, this is a good picture. Best I've seen. Truly.
Have a great weekend, will miss you.
